Black and Swatch

Zero corruption has become a pass word for every politician. The word has lost its sanctity after being used by even the most corrupt politicians around. They know the loopholes of the system that stand them in good stead till they die and the wealth passes on to their next generation. The Supreme Court, though people might say is dismantling the fire walls of governance, has done the right thing in ordering disclosure of the black money holders' names, of course to only SIT. The NDA government which rode to power on the back of the promise to bring  the black money back from overseas banks, should have done it without asking for the modification of Supreme Court's earlier Order. Or should have submitted the list to SIT before the S.C directed to do so. Indian media, especially T.V. channels have found 24 hrs feed to keep their channels busy. May be they are right but the heaping of insults and arrogance displayed on screen needs to be condemned. Whether it is Congress or BJP leaders or Business leaders should not be crucified even before their guilt is proved. The guilty must be punished and punished stringently. Until then the media can pass on the authentic information to the public without passing any judgement. Indian Public is intelligent enough to understand and analyse the information. I do not deny the crucial role played by the media is in safeguarding public interest but will welcome some restraint over exposure of certain issues that might damage national image. There are many social problems on which the media can educate people. For example the Swatch Bharat programme, instead of mocking and phoo phooing the politicians who come out for once with broom sticks and act as if they are keeping the country swatch, the media can educate the public on keeping their neighbourhood clean and on the short coming of the municipal karmacharies and the lack of equipments they are provided with, lower wages etc, One leads to so many.. and they are socially relevant and play a pivotal role in changing it.

CBI could have arrested Jagan a year back lest the wealth of the state was not laundered and spent on promoting himself. Better late than never.  The present CBI team deserves all praise for tracking the misadventures of a power-hungry block head
